Church Mouse - January 2009

Church Mouse - Oviedo Presbyterian ChurchHi friends,

The church is so beautiful after the Hanging of the Greens.  I wish the love that Jesus birth brings out in us at this time of year never left us.  I just sit back in awe and feel how this church overflows with it during Advent season.  I hope to bring a few of my mouse friends to join us Christmas Eve when we all wait in anticipation of remembering the birth that saved us all.

Church Mouse - May 2009

Church Mouse - Oviedo Presbyterian ChurchHi folks!

I awoke to "Jesus is risen" and the response from the congregation, "He is risen, indeed".  Immediately, I knew it was Easter morning as this little mouse has celebrated this with you all for a few years now.  Our Lord has covered our sins and death and brought such special meaning to all the Easters since!  Without being noticed, I crept up front to take a whiff of the beautiful Easter lilies that added to the beauty of the day.  We serve a risen Lord!!!

Church Mouse - Oviedo Presbyterian ChurchHi church friends,

May 2009 Pastor's Ponderings

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I have to confess, with the exception of Sundays, I am not often out of the house in time to see the sunrise. You know how it is, full workdays, evening meetings, and putting your feet up for a few minutes when you come home doesn’t go together with getting up with the chickens.

April 2009 Pastor's Ponderings

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

There are many ways to greet our family and friends. Truman, from the Truman show, jubilantly greeted others with, “Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!” In his extravagant graciousness he covered all the bases. Truman’s greetings revealed what he knew and experienced of life – that life and everyone else was good. Or so he thought before he discovered that his world was a lie and that he had been exploited for the entertainment of others.

Thank you to Theta Chi

The brothers of the Theta Chi fraternity together with members of OPC put their strong backs to work clearing the brush that has been threatening to take over the front lawn of the church. This is the third time that Theta Chi has helped with this effort.

Thank you!
