Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

From 1 Peter 3:15

We are called to live lives that raise questions. In 1 Peter 3 we read that by loving others, returning blessing for evil, enduring suffering with hope, and following the example of Jesus, our lives should make people wonder, "What's up with that?" When they ask, we are to be ready to explain the hope that is within us—not with polished speeches, but by sharing what the Lord has done for us and the mercy he has shown us. Jesus himself lived the ultimate life that raised questions, and his cross gives the ultimate answer: because he suffered for us, our hope is secure, and even death does not get the final word.
